Ghana coach Avram Grant is the brain behind Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich paying for 55 seriously ill children to go on a dream trip to Euro 2016.

Over the past two years, the Russian is thought to have donated £232 million to the charity Fulfilling Dreams, which helps ill youngsters to travel the world.

The billionaire's incredibly generous donations have helped the group go on a tour of France, watching two Germany games and Ireland's victory over Italy.

They have also been to Euro Disney, and sightseeing around Paris.

Grant is thought to have introduced Abramovich to the organisation, and charity founder Gilad Salter told CNN of his donations: 'I couldn't believe how generous he was. He sent us some money and said, 'Thank you for doing something so special — it's my honor to help you.

'I think what appealed to Mr. Abramovich was the fact that this was a charity run by volunteers, with nobody benefiting financially.

'We had a meeting with all the kids going on the trip and we sent him an email with some photos. He's really interested in what we're doing and wants to help.'
