Accra, June 27, GNA - Goldstar Airlines and its partner Seasons Travel and Tours are supporting this year's Salafest Boxing extravaganza slated for July 9, 2016 at the Opera Square in Accra.

The boxing bout, put together by Pakis Boxing Promotion, is geared toward maintaining and enhancing peace, stability and oneness before, during and after the November polls.

Coach Fatai Issifu, under whose auspices this boxing promotion is seeing the light of day, is looking forward to an action-packed bonanza and feisty action on the night.

'Goldstar Airlines is partnering the Salafest Boxing Bonanza because of the intention behind the Salafest Boxing Bonanza, 'Mr. John Ashong-Mettle, Head of the Public Relations Unit of Goldstar Airline told journalists in Accra.

According to him the company has never shied away from such responsibilities, citing how the company has thrown its weight behind some boxing projects at the structural and inter-phase levels.

'We'll go to all length to put the sport on the map again,' Mr Ashong-Mettle said.

He said "the company is doing this project with a sense of public-spirit, in a zealously enthusiastic manner geared toward making the Salafest Boxing Extravaganza a regular feature in the country."

The night, expected to be full of thrills and spills, will feature foreign boxers like Mohammed Mubarak from Ivory Coast, Ali Funeka from Cameroun, Issifu Diarra from Niger and a host of local boxers. He said the icing on the cake will be an exhibition bout between mercurial and crack boxer, Isaac Dogbe and Alfred Quaye.

In attendance will be Mr Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, Minister of Youth and Sports and MP for Odododiodio, who would be the Special Guest for the occasion.

The pairings for the night will see Mohammed Mubarak from locking horns with Posper Anyewa from Ghana, Ali Funeka will fight Richard Neequaye whiles Issifu Diarra will take on Ernest Ampah.
