The battle that engulfed last year’s Ramadan Cup will be reinvigorated on July 4 at the Kotobabi Wembley Park, where the 2016 Annual Sheikh Sharabutu Ramadan Cup will be held.
The Sheikh Sharabutu Ramadan Cup is an activation to preach the essence of brotherhood amongst the Zongo communities whiles serving as an august platform to preaching peace to the youth.
Launched at the Accra Sports Stadium (Media Center) on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, this year’s competition involves twelve teams; Mamobi, Nima, Shukura, Darkuman, New Fadama, Madina, Nsawam, Sabon Zongo, Tudu, Accra New Town, Alajo, and Ashaiman.
Modalities spelt out for this competition:
The 12 communities will be grouped into 3. That is; Groups A, B, and C.
The community which places first in each group after 3 rounds of matches gains automatic qualification to the semi final phase.
However, the best second placed team amongst the 3 groups also gains a semi final qualification.
The 2016 Sheikh Sharabutu Ramadan Cup is proudly sponsored by the Royal Bank with a total package of GHC 30,000.00.
