2nd Annual Sheikh Sharabutu Ramadan Cup 2016 Launched 

The official launch of the 2nd Annual Sheikh Sharabutu Ramadan Cup 2016 has been held at the Media Center of the Accra Sports stadium with The Royal Bank as the major sponsor.

Kwame Baah Nuako of the Royal Bank said it was the bank's corporate social responsibility to support communities and the Zongo communities need to be supported as there are so many talents there.

Sheikh Yunusah Osman Mohammed who represented the Chief Imam said last years's event was very successful and they pray the 2016 edition would be another success.He praised the organisers and the teams that participated with Ashiaman community winning the ultimate prize.

he noted that such events foster peace and unity, as well as unearth talents who can benefit the nation.

Some of the communities selected for the 2016 event are Madina, Mamobi, Nsawam, Accra New Town, Nima, Sabon Zongo, Ashiaman and Sukura. Others are Darkuman, Alajo, Tudu and New Fadama.

Presenting the dummy cheque of Ghc 20,000 to the organizers of the event, Kwame Baah Nuako said sports is a tool for development and his bank saw it very wise to support the deprived communities and hoped for a successful event.

Asamoah Gyan's Mama Vits presented 10 bags of rice and an undisclosed amount of money to the organizers. Others sponsors like Coca-Cola have promised to put up a fantastic package for the media, the players of the various teams and the spectators.

The Ramadan Cup will be held at the Kotobabi Wembley Park on the 4th of July 2016.

Organizer of the event Tamimu Issah of the PLB of the GFA said the media have played a major role in publicity and commended the press houses who have supported the event.
