Oscar Pistorius: South African runner removed his prosthetic legs in a sad court episode and here's why

South African sprint runner Oscar Pistorius removed his prosthetic legs on Wednesday in court as defence counsel Barry Roux seek to prove that his client deserves leniency.

Pistorius on day three of his sentencing removed the artificial limbs after being asked by Roux before uncomfortably walking to his lawyer to lean on a wooden sideboard, kneeling on a red cushion on the floor.

Mr. Roux after calling his client stressed that Pistorius was really embarrassed by the action of removing his prosthetic legs but understood it was important to do it.
