Sports News I believe Sulley Muntari can still help the national team- Ex-Ghana skipper Stephen Appiah
JUN 10, 2016 LISTEN

Iconic former Ghana skipper Stephen Appiah has called for the whole nation to accept Sulley Muntari's apology and move on stating that we are all human and fallible.

Muntari four days ago caused a massive media log down when news broke that he had slapped in an apology two years after being thrown out of camp for physically assaulting then Black Stars management member Moses Armah Parker.

The 31-year-old gifted midfielder is not new to controversy but the one in Brazil copped him an indefinite suspension from the national team as it had the potential to tarnish the image of the country.

But two years down the line, Appiah who formed an enviable midfield partnership with Muntari as Ghana qualified for the maiden World Cup in 2006 says it's time to accept him back since we are all  imperfect.

'I have read the apology letter and Muntari has realized what he did was wrong and that for me was the important thing,' Appiah is quoted by Joysports

'He still has a lot of football in him and I believe he can still help the national team. I am happy he has apologized and for me, he has done the right thing.'

'I think it's time to move on now.'
In other news Stephen Appiah will be leading a world eleven team to play against the Black Stars on Saturday in Accra all in an aim to campaign for peace ahead of this years national elections.
