Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan has jumped to the defense of Sulley Muntari and asked that he should be forgiven.

Muntari slapped in an apology two years after his burst up in Brazil where he slapped then Black Stars management member Moses Armah Parker.

The midfielder is not new to high profile burst up with the last one at the national level copping him an indefinite suspension from representing his nation.

But skipper Asamoah Gyan says its time to embrace the midfielder and move on due to his long standing service to the national team.

'I'm very happy for him to have written the letter. For this world if a brother offend you and regret and then come to apologize, you have to forgive him' He told Kumasi based Angel FM.

'For now he's declared that he's available, he's apologized. All we have to do is just to forgive him and move on.

'He's one player who has served from 2002 and still plays active football today so i think we should compensate him with what he has done for the country.'

Gyan himself has been unable to represent his nation in the last two games due to injury and will be hoping to be fit for the AFCON next January in Gabon.
