Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs secured a magical 1-1 draw game with Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman, Accra on Sunday, May 29 as the first round of the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League (GPL) culminated.

The scientific soccer lads (Liberty Professionals) took an early lead in the 2nd minute through hard working midfielder Tamimu Muntari, who ghosted his way through the Dwarfs defence with ease to power the home side ahead.

Ebusua Dwarfs attacker Stephen Bentil out jumped Samuel Sarfo (Captain of Liberty Professionals) in the 44th minute to head the ball into the yawning net to pull parity for the visitors.

Liberty Professionals lifted their game in the second half, but Ebusua Dwarfs were equally good on the day matching the scientific soccer lads boot-to-boot amid delay tactics to help them to at least return to Cape Coast with a point in their pocket.

Gockel Ahotor’s expertly taken free kick in the 38th minute was enough for Inter Allies to secure a point at the Essipong Stadium after Ibrahim Suleiman had given Sekondi Hasaacas the lead in the 16th minute.

At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Asante Kotoko walloped sensational Techiman City Football Club by 4-2 as striker Dauda Mohammed grabbed his first hat trick of the season.

Dauda’s hat trick (19th, 25th, and 47th) is an epitome of a turnaround season for the Porcupine Warriors who made a triumphant jump from the bottom of the league table to finish on third position after matchday 15.

Edwin Tuffour scored the other goal for Asante Kotoko whiles the football President, John Baba Mahama and Okyere Sarpong were on the score sheet for Techiman City.

Glorious Hearts of Oak had to dig very deep in the second half to settle for a 1-1 draw game with Dreams FC at the Dawu Park (Theatre of Dreams). Lawrence Bekui gave Dreams FC the lead in the 17th minute, but the Phobians pulled parity in the 85th minute through Paul Acquah.

Yahaya Mohammed increased his lead on the goal king chart to 11 as he scored a brace for his side Aduana Stars in their 4-2 win over regional rivals Bechem United at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.

Bright Adjei also scored a brace for the home side whiles Abednego Tetteh and Aminu Mohammed were the scorers for the visitors (Bechem United).

Richard Arthur’s late goal in the second half ensured that Wa All Stars regained their top spot on the league table after a 1-0 win over former CAF Champions League campaigners Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.

Medeama SC did not spare New Edubiase United at the Tarkwa T&A Park as they beat them 2-0 courtesy Daniel Amoah and Kwesi Donsu’s goals.

However, the game between AshantiGold SC and WAFA on Saturday at the Len Clay Sports Stadium ended 0-0.
