Congolese club AS Vita have been disqualified from the CAF Champions League for fielding an ineligible player. Mamelodi Sundowns will replace the team in the group stage of the competition.
South African club Mamelodi Sundowns were eliminated from the final qualification step to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup by Ghana Premier League club Medeama SC.
The Ghana FA Cup winners lost in the first leg by three goals to one away at South Africa before qualifying on away goal's rule with a two nil win at the Sekondi Stadium.
CAF however confirmed the disqualification of AS Vita from Congo on their official twitter handle with the details to follow:
