League Report GPL PREVIEW: Aduana, Hearts top liner in Dormaa as Kotoko seek to continue fine form
MAY 21, 2016 LISTEN

This weekend could see a landmark of 200 goals scored in the league with all fixtures set to be honoured. Read a full preview of the games in store this weekend

ADUANA VS HEARTS
The top liner in Dormaa will see Aduana seek a sixth consecutive victory in the league. The Dormaa side began this incredible run on matchday 8 against Hasaacas and are hoping to extend it against top of the table Hearts of Oak. The Phobians have been in superb form away from conceding only three goals away from home. The Phobians remain the only team unbeaten away from home but will have to on fire Yahaya Mohammed and team mates Bright Adjei, Zakaria Mumuni and Richard Mpong. For Hearts, Isaac Mensah remains a livewire and a key component to how they function.

KOTOKO VS INTER ALLIES
Kotoko seek to make it four consecutive wins in the league after a torrid start. The Porcupines have won the same number of games (3) at home just as away but will hope to go one better at home when they host Inter Allies. They will once again be without striker Dauda Mohammed who is with the Black Satellites in Ethiopia. They however showed strength in depth beating Bechem without him. Same cannot be said of Inter Allies who are without the trio of Evans Mensah, Isaac Twum and Kwame Baah. The Tema side only managed a draw with Ashantigold in midweek as new coach Jimmy Cobblah seeks his first win in charge.

ASHANTIGOLD VS WA ALL STARS
The draw specialists are without a win since matchday 8 as pressure continues to mount on Bashir Hayford. Their last outing in Obuasi was an abysmal goalless draw with Bechem United prompting Bash to call for a 90 day leave which was rejected. They have a chance to make amends against a Wa All Stars team which seem to have lost their way a wee bit after an impressive start to the season. The Wa side are winless in their last three games including two defeats.

Total matches played - 1 6
AshGold wins - 7
Goals scored - 12
All Stars wins - 4
Goals scored - 6
Draws - 5
DREAMS VS MEDEAMA
Akonnour’s men seem to find the going tough in the Premier League after quite an impressive. One win in four games as well as a drubbing in Dormaa does not speak well of a club which has been vibrant in both transfer windows. This game could have turn the corner for them as former player Baba Rahman has promised a bonus package should they win. Medeama on the other hand are on cloud nine at the moment after qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup. However their form in the league has been nothing short of appalling. The Yellow and Mauves will be further hampered by the absence of key defenders Moses Sarpong and Daniel Amoah who are with the Black Satellites.

HASAACAS VS DWARFS
Call it a Fante derby and you will not be far from right. The giants from the Western Region and Central Region slug it out at Essipong with both clubs in patchy form. Hasaacas have leaked in goals for fun while Dwarfs cannot score to save their lives. New coach of Dwarfs Prosper Nartey oversaw his side’s goalless draw against Chelsea which was reportedly one of the best games Dwarfs have played all this season but Hasaacas also put up an impressive second half performance against Hearts in Accra leaving for an open attractive tie in Sekondi. Dwarfs will be searching for their first win away from Cape Coast this season and only their third overall in the league.

LIBERTY VS NEW EDUBIASE
Liberty picked up an impressive point in Dawu with Latif Blessing finding the back of the net yet again. Up next for them is New Edubiase who lost at home to Aduana. Edubiase have fast become party spoilers in the league ruining clubs joy unexpectedly. On paper, Liberty should record another win at home but the youngsters of Edubiase are more than capable of nicking at least a point. Despite all the eyes being on Latif Blessing, Bernard Arthur will also be a handful and one to closely keep an eye on.

WAFA VS TECHIMAN CITY
The Soagakope side host Techiman City after an impressive point away in Wa. They seem to have lost their way a bit after two consecutive draws at home. They have chance to return to winning ways against Techiman City but will have to do it without Charles Boateng. Techiman on the other hand have quietly gone about their business in the league and find themselves fifth with a game to spare. Their home form is impregnable dropping only two points but their travels have been their undoing. Yusuf Abubakar will be looking up to Baba Mahama to inspire the team in the Volta Region.
