Anlo ladies football club have been declared champions of the Volta region after beating off competitions from five other women football clubs. The Volta Regional Women’s Football Committee has organized a day’s competition to select a regional representative towards the upcoming Maiden National Women Knock –out competition.

The competition took place at two venues concurrently, the Barracks and Police Depot Parks all in the Volta regional capital, Ho.

Participating teams includes; Redeem Ladies FC from Juapong, Volta Amalgamated Ladies from Ho, Mighty Breakers from Afife, Hands are Blessed from Dzodze, Anlo Ladies from Anlo, and Dynamo Ladies. All six teams were grouped in two with matches starting 11:00 am simultaneously at all venues. At the end of round matches Anlo Ladies took the day with avalanche of 13 goals and qualified to represent the region.

The National Women’s League Board in its expedition to improve the competitiveness of Women Football in the country has introduced a Knock –Out competition (just like the FA cup competition) where all regions would have a representative, the competition is expected to run alongside the National Women’s League (NWL).
