MAY 4, 2016 LISTEN

Jordan Ayew justified why he is Aston Villa's best player of the season and sent a message to English Premier League clubs he is a striker of top notch quality.

While his brother Andre Ayew dragged Liverpool to the guillotine after handing them a bitter lesson at the Liberty Stadium as Swansea City nailed Jurgen Klopp's men.

Frank Acheampong, Osei Barnes and Afriyie Acquah were all scoring midfielders for their clubs abroad.

Below are the outstanding Ghanaian players abroad from the weekend.

GOALKEEPER - Razak Brimah (Cordoba - Spain) 6/10

Brimah gets the nod to start in post due to the unavailability of any of the four foreign-based Ghanaian goalkeepers. Though Cordoba slipped to a 1-0 away loss against Real Oviedo,  Brimah was in good shape.

DEFENDER - Dennis Appiah (Caen - France) 7/10

Appiah played full throttle for Caen in their goalless stalemate with Bastia. He was solid at his lateral defensive role. He remains the most consistent outfield player in the French top-flight this season, completing all 36 games he has started in the season.

DEFENDER - Jeffrey Schlupp (Leicester City - England) 7/10

Powerful and workaholic at the Old Trafford. Schlupp was in his best form, lasting 77 minutes for Claudio Ranieri's champions. His ability to combine defensive and offensive duties held United's men in check and Leicester took advantage to frustrate the hosts.

DEFENDER - John Boye (Sivasspor - Turkey) 7.5/10

Boye provided the assist for Sivasspor as they managed a 1-1 draw with Akhisar Belediyespor on Saturday. His performance was no doubt the best in defence Sivasspor could have asked for. He has scored four goals from defence in the ongoing season.

DEFENDER - Joseph Attamah (Adana Demirspor - Turkey) 7/10

In Adana Demirspor's 2-2 stalemate at Kayseri Erciyesspor the former Ghana U20 defender justified Trabzonspor's interest in him by putting up an outstanding display in central defence for the automatic promotion chasing side.

MIDFIELDER - Afriyie Acquah (Torino - Italy) 8/10

Powerful and bullish. The 23-year-old displayed brute force to resist an Udinese challenge in the box and powered home a ferocious drive from the area as Torino handed Udinese's survival surge a heavy blow at the Stadio Communale Fruili. Acquah's goal was his second of the season.

MIDFIELDER - Osei Barnes (Pacos Ferreira - Portugal) 7.5/10

Over the past couple of seasons, a handful of Ghanaian talents are trying to emulate the example set by Christian Atsu in the Portuguese  league but none has come closer yet with consistency becoming an issue. However Barnes's performance for Ferreira on Saturday was a huge statement of intent, scoring to earn them a 1-1 stalemate at Belenenses.

MIDFIELDER - Frank Acheampong (Anderlecht - Belgium) 7/10

Winger extraordinaire! After taking orders from manager Besnik Hasi, the 22-year-old returned to put Gent to the sword and killed off the game as contest. His fifth league goal of the domestic season and 9th in all competitions. The win has restored Anderlecht's hopes of fighting for the Pro League title.

MIDFIELDER - Andre Ayew (Swansea City - England) 9/10

Sensational and GREAT! The 26-year-old heralded a strong display by scoring a brace to down the Kops at the Liberty Stadium. His first was a marvelous header from a Sigurosson's corner kick before he dazzled four Liverpool defenders inside the box to plant a firm drive into Daniel Ward's net. The deputy Ghana captain has now netted 10 goals on his debut season in the EPL.

FORWARD - Jordan Ayew (Aston Villa - England) 7.5/10

The Black Stars striker netted his 7th league goal of the season for relegated Villa at the Vicarage Road Stadium. Ayew was the architect of his goal as he dropped deep into the area to pick a ball and combined well with Benin international Rudy Gestede who returned his artful out-step pass with an inviting connection. The Watford custodian stood no chance as the former Olympique Marseille striker drilled his shot to the bottom right corner.

FORWARD - Kwasi Okyere Wriedt (SK Hansa - Germany) 7/10

21 and prolific at scoring goals. The forward reached 20 goals for SK Hansa this season on Sunday. The former St Pauli youth team striker has been an insurance of goals for Hansa this term and he has marketed himself to Bundesliga II and Dutch clubs who are impressed with his scoring form.
