League Report We have forgotten about AshGold win, attention on Kotoko now- Hearts defender Atingah
APR 30, 2016 LISTEN

Hearts of Oak defender Vincent Atingah has admitted they are no longer reveling in the win over AshantiGold, but that they have their attention firmly focused on the Kotoko game.

Hearts ended a nine-year winless run against Ashgold at the Len Clay Sports Stadium last Sunday, by beating them by 2 goals to 1.

The Phobians have not won against Kotoko in six years at the Accra Sports Stadium in the league against the old-enemy.

But Atingah says the players are well prepared to reverse that trend on Monday.

"The technical team have been psyching us for the upcoming game and we have been made aware that our win over Ashgold is history. That game is in the past and so we cannot keep celebrating it but we have to look up to the coming game,' the towering defender told facebook.com/accraheartsofoak.

"Accra is our home and we cannot allow Kotoko to come and steal points here again, like they did last year. We have to be fully focused, work together as a team, reduced the pressure on ourselves, and take all the necessary advise from the technical team so we can deliver against Kotoko.'

He added: 'We want the fans to remember us before, during, and after the game. We want them to keep us in their prayers before the game, and they should give us 100% during the match, and I believe that after the game we will deliver for them.'
