Accra, April 29, GNA - Ghana Oil Company Ltd (GOIL) a major player in the oil marketing industry has penned a one year deal worth GH¢ 480,000 with Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko at a ceremony held at the company's Executive Centre in Accra.

GOIL will make a monthly payment of GH¢ 40,000 including fuel and other packages to each club for a 12-month period to assist the clubs.

The Managing Director of GOIL Mr. Partick A. Akorli explained that the support to the two big clubs is to motivate players and strengthen the clubs by increasing patronage and attendance at stadiums, to help generate funds for the clubs.

He said GOIL was committed to strengthen the local clubs, and that, the success of this partnership will determine the future engagement with other clubs.

Mr. Akorli appealed to the supporters of both clubs to comport themselves when Hearts welcome their perennial rival Kotoko on Monday for the ''Super clash''.

He also called on Ghanaians to support the company by patronising their products to enable them to assist the other local clubs.

Representatives of both clubs Vincent Odotei Sowah and Opoku Nti expressed gratitude to the company for the support and pledged to respect the obligation of the sponsorship and hoped the contract will be extended.
