Ex-Ghana midfielder Baba 'Armando' Adamu claims the Black Stars is 'useless' without captain extraordinaire Asamoah Gyan.

The controversial former Ghana international insists the national team will struggle for recognition without the Shanghai SIPG attacker.

Gyan, an iconic figure in Ghana, has emerged as the country's best striker of all-time.

The former Sunderland and Al Ain hitman is Ghana's leading all-time top scorer with 48 goals in 95 appearances.

And former Ghana star Baba 'Armando' Adamu insists the team is nothing without the team's skipper.

'Asamoah Gyan is a good player and a good captain. In actual fact, there is no Black Stars without him', Armando said.

Gyan burst onto the scene at 17 years and 362 days, and scored against Somalia in a World Cup qualifier to become Ghana's youngest-ever scorer, a record that he still holds.

The former Udinese striker has been prolific at club level remains a cult hero for the Black Stars.

He became the first Ghana player to score at the Fifa World Cup when the country made their maiden appearance in 2006 against Czech Republic, and after two more mundials, he currently holds the record of the highest number of goals (seven) scored at the World Cup by an African, surpassing Roger Milla.
