Accra, April 25, GNA - Primeval Media, the organizers of the Vodafone Unity Match, have announced a star-studded and football icons for the two legged match, on June 8 and June 11, at the Baba Yara Stadium and the Accra Stadium respectively.

International players who have confirmed their participation were formally announced at the press engagement to build the momentum ahead of the games, which is geared towards peaceful election come November 2016.

A world XI team, which would be captained by former Black Stars skipper, Stephen Appiah would feature former European stars like Dwight Yorke and Louis Saha, ex-England internationals Sol Campbell, Emile Heskey and Jermain Defoe and Dutch greats Patrick Kluivert, George Boateng, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Edgar Davids.

Other international players from Africa who have also confirmed their participation are ex-Black Stars midfield trio of Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Laryea Kingson, with Augustine Arhinful, Richard Kingston, as well as Nigerian international Yakubu Aiyegbeni, and former Arsenal stars Emmanuel Eboue, Alexander Song and Emmanuel Adebayor participating.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, who graced the occasion also pledged the support of his outfit for the event saying 'it would be impossible to organise sports programmes and also conduct business in a chaotic environment".

Peace Ambassador for election 2016, Stephen Appiah, used the occasion to appeal to all football lovers to patronise 2016 Vodafone Unity Match as their contribution towards promoting peace and unity before, during and after the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections on November 7.

The Appiah led team, which would include former and current international football stars will take on former African champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium, before engaging Black Stars in Accra on 11th June, 2016.
