Cosmos Dauda’s brace on Sunday ensured former continental club masters Hearts of Oak record their first win since 1997 at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium in Matchday 9 of the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Hearts of Oak had lots of cobwebs going into the match following Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s outburst on social media (facebook) after their MTN-FA Cup Round of 32 match against Division One League side Wassaman United.

But as characteristic with the Phobians Hearts of Oak defied all odds as they grabbed all the three points at stake at the Len Clay Stadium. AshantiGold SC however, pulled one back in the 73rd minute through Nafiu Awudu to bring the scores at 2-1 in favour of Hearts.

Bernard Arthur’s late goal gave scientific soccer lads Liberty Professionals a 1-0 win at the Essipong Sports Stadium to leapfrog to the third position of the league table with 16 points.

Yahya Mohammed continued his goal-scoring prowess on Sunday as he scored in each half to enable Aduana Stars beat Medeama Sporting Club at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa where the home side won a comfortable 3-0.

Dreams Football Club suffered a successive defeat for the first time since joining the Premier League as Berekum Chelsea thrashed them 3-0 at the Golden City Park.

Asante Kotoko were beaten 1-0 by New Edubiase United at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Saturday.
