Deputy Black Stars coach Maxwell Konadu says Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila has made Ghana proud in Kuwait with his splendid performance for Al Qadsia FC.

The former Asante Kotoko defender has been in top form for the Qadsia-based side guiding them to a successful season with the Kuwaiti Premier League title with two matches to end the season.

And the deputy coach of the Black Stars believes the 23-year old is making Ghana proud in the oil-rich country.

'Sumaila is making Ghanaians proud in Kuwait. Of course I never loved it when the offer came for him to go there but he has proved he is not lazy,' Maxwell told GHANAsoccernet.com

'He has made himself proud by not being lazy and has made Ghana proud too. He is a serious player and I think he has done well,' he added.

Sumaila's form in the Kuwait league has seen him score two goals for Al Qadsia as well as providing a rocky defence which has conceded only ten goals.

He has recently been nominated as the best foreign player in Kuwait.
