Accra, April 20, GNA - Assistant coach of the Black Stars, Maxwell Konadu, has invited a 25-man home based stars for an international friendly with Japan Olympic team, on May 11, in Japan.

The local players are expected to report for camping at Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram on April 25, to start preparations ahead of the friendly with Japan.

Inter Allies star player, Evans Mensah, who earned a late call up in the senior national team for the AFCON qualifier against Mozambique, maintained his place in the team, as a call up was handed to his club deputy captain Gockel Ahortor, while six players were invited from the Wa All Stars camp including goalkeeper Richard Ofori and star striker Richard Arthur.

Baba Mensah of Techiman City, who has won three man of the match awards, after seven games could not make the cut for the 25 man squad alongside Eric Bekoe of Hasaacas, who has five goals to his credit in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Ghana coach Avram Grant is expected to return from his European tour before the team leave for Japan.
