Vision FC: Qualifying to Ghana Premier League not a priority

Newly promoted Division One league side, Vision FC says qualifying to the Ghana Premier League next season will only be a plus as a result of hard work.

The club's administrative manager, Kwaku Obiri says the team is a young side and targeting qualification to the Premier League is farfetched, but he won't rule out the possibility of playing in the top flight competition next season.

'Every club in the division would like to qualify to the Premier League and we won't rule out that because it can be possible," Kwaku Obiri told Pulse.com.gh

"Our target for the season is to win our first eight games and then, we take it from there," he added.

Vision FC has played high-profile friendly matches in pres-season including one against Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Tema sports stadium, a venue they intend to adopt for their league and lost 1-0.

Kwaku Obiri explained that the decision to play matches like the one against Asante Kotoko was to give the team exposure and confidence when they meet teams like Great Olympics in their zone in the course of the season.

"A club like Asante Kotoko is one of the biggest clubs in the country apart from Hearts of Oak so we decided to play them to give our team the opportunity to their readiness for other big clubs like Great Olympics when we meet in the Division One League," he said.

Vision FC will open the division one league campaign against Roberto Pure Joy when the season begins on February 20.
