London, Feb. 11, (GNA/dpa) - Premier League side West Bromwich Albion squeezed into the last 16 of the FA Cup after beating League One side Peterborough on Wednesday in a penalty shoot-out.

The two sides were level at 1-1 after extra time, but West Brom won 4-3 on penalties.

Darren Fletcher, who equalized on the night after Jon Taylor's opener for Peterborough, was a relieved man after he missed a penalty in the shoot-out.

"That was a real tough match," he told BBC Sport.
"It was a great cup tie, and in the end someone has to go through. It was a terrible penalty from me, I was too busy looking the goalkeeper, but luckily our goalkeeper made another good save."

Peterborough manager Graham Westley said his players had given everything.

"We knew that we would have to play very well if we were to win against a side with a lot of experience, and that experience probably told in the end with the penalties," he said.

"Our lads will gain so much from that experience. They performed tremendously, but now we have the league to concentrate on, as any manager would say."
