FEB 9, 2016 LISTEN

A first win for Mauricio Pochettino as Southampton manager dented Manchester City's Barclays Premier League title defence at St Mary's Stadium.

Pochettino, who had replaced Nigel Adkins at Southampton the previous month, saw his team go 2-0 up thanks to goals by Jason Puncheon and Steven Davis, before Edin Dzeko pulled one back for Roberto Mancini's visitors.

Gareth Barry's own goal wrapped up the win that put Saints six points clear of the relegation zone, while City remained nine points behind Manchester United having played a match more.

Pochettino's side went on to finish 14th while City remained in second behind United at the end of the campaign.
