Mohammed Polo: Hearts legend would prefer Kotoko if given another chance
07.02.2016 LISTEN

Hearts of Oak legend, Mohammed Polo has hit out at the club's fans describing them as 'stingy' adding that if he would have another opportunity he will play for the club's bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko.

According to Polo who is now a coach, the supporters of the Kumasi-based club are more generous than the Accra-based side. Over the week, Agyemang Duah who was part of the club's successful campaign in 2000 after they took Africa by storm in winning the CAF Champions league and the Super Cup made a similarstatements.

Duah who is currently battling mild stroke said the supporters of Hearts of Oak are too stingy while Asante Kotoko fans continue to show care to their ex-stars.

And outspoken Polo says it was not worth playing for Hearts of Oak;

''Hearts do not help their players at all, if I'm to die and resurrect, I would play for Kotoko. Looking at the way Kotoko support their players for me it's awesome'', Polo told Kumasi-based Boss FM.

''I remember one instance  that both Hearts and Kotoko players were at Black Stars camp and the way the Kotoko supporters came there to show their appreciation to their players among us, it was wonderful and a memorable one,''

''Sunday Ibrahim and Abdul Razak won the African Best Players because of the support Kotoko always give to their players unlike Hearts Of Oak. At Hearts, they don't even care if you'll die, so for me there are differences between the two,''

''Look at how I'm suffering. Kotoko supporters are very good that is why almost all the players who played for the team are progressing in life. Look at Maxwell Konadu and others. In fact, I cannot say I'm the best coach in Ghana but for as a player I don't think anyone comes near me. It's very painful.
