Hebei China Fortunate Football Club’s new found ‘absolute beast defender’ Stephane Etoundi Mbia has hailed the supporters of his former team, Trabzonspor for the hospitality offered him whiles playing in Turkey.
“I felt at home from the first day. The fans are really great and positive, but football brings unexpected changes sometimes and I am happy with the new opportunity I've been given," The 29-year-old Mbia said in an interview.
Mbia however, explained that his journey to Turkey took a nosedive and that was one of the reasons why he left the club.
“The beginning was beautiful and promising, but the club has had a few challenging months recently,” he noted
The defensive scrapper signed for the Chinese outfit during the January transfer window for $4.4 million and has hinted to give his all to help elevate Hebei China FC to a greater height.
“With the new direction, I think and hope progress will be made,” he noted.
The Chinese Super League side verified on their micro blog after capturing the signature of the Cameroonian captain that Mbia is going to give the team a rear-guard which is qualitative leap.
