SCANDAL: Spiritualist accuse Rashid Sumaila of Jerry Akaminko's pre-World Cup injury

Malam Isaka Salia, a spiritualist based in the Western Region of Ghana has laid a wild allegation against former Black Stars defender Rashid Sumaila for the pre-World Cup injury suffered by team mate Jerry Akaminko.

Akaminko sustained a serious career threatening injury in Ghana's pre-World Cup friendly with the Netherlands which ruled him out of the competition.

The aggrieved spiritualist who claims the Al Qadsia defender has failed to honour his part of the deal in sidelining Akaminko says Rashid came to him for spiritual assistance to gain a position in the Black Stars set up ahead of the naming of the squad for the tournament.

"He came to me for assistance ahead of the World Cup and I promised to help him," Malam Isaka told Takoradi-based Kyzz FM.

"I told him he could only get a position in the squad if one of the center backs is injured. He accepted and asked me to do it to Jerry Akaminko. So I made sure Akaminko was injured so that Rashid's name will be in the squad. I am now saying this public because he has failed to pay me,"Malam Isaka added.

The troubled spiritual giant added that Rashid Sumaiala sent a delegation to him in a hotel in Kumasi who drove to him in Tahim Ayew's salon car after the Black Stars game with Egypt at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The spiritualist who claims he has helped many prominent Ghanaians to achieve greater heights warned that the former Black Stars defender has just a week to pay him for what he was contracted to do or risk being exposed with text messages sent to him by the player.
