John Antwi scored for Al Ahly

Ghanaian forward John Antwi struck the only goal of the game for Al Ahly as they claimed a slender 1-0 win over Al Ittihad in the Egyptian Premier League in Alexandria on Saturday afternoon.

The 23-year-old hit the back of the net with a brilliant 64th minute effort at the Alexandria Stadium before travelling Ahly fans.

Antwi applied a fine acrobatic effort inside the box after a searching low cross found him in unmarked.

Antwi was also voted the Most Valuable Player of the game following his scintillating form that won the tie for the Cairo giants and secured interim boss Abdel-Aziz Abdel-Shafi 'Zizo' his second win in a row in the wake of the sudden departure of Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro.

The goal is Antwi's third in all competitions for Ahly since joining them from Saudi side Al Shabab.
