Last resort: Palmer turns to CAS in relation to case against Dreams FC

Wilfred Osei Palmer, after exhausting all internal legal mechanisms within the Ghana Football Association has sent their case against Dreams FC concerning the eligibility of Cudjoe Mensah to CAS, which is the highest arbitration body in world sports.

Cudjoe Mensah was alleged to have registered for two clubs in two different league divisions of the Ghana Football Association under different names (Daniel Gozar and Cudjoe Mensah respectively) using different date of births in the 2013-2014 football season contrary to Article 26(3)(b) and 35(12) of the GFA General Regulations.

The Disciplinary Committee of the GFA as result of the evidence it gathered slapped a year ban on the said player, but, failed to punish Dreams FC for using an unqualified player.

Any punishment to Dreams FC will deny them their qualification to the Ghana Premier League and Osei Palmer in his quest to let the Kweiman based side face the music for their action appealed against the ruling of the DC, but lost and again lost it at the Review Committee.

However, he has now sent the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to settle the prolonged dispute between his side Tema Youth and Dreams FC which could delay the start of the 2015-16 Ghana Premier League season which is tentatively fixed to kick off on 20th December.

'I have sent the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. I sent it by courier and I believe the truth shall come out concerning our case against Dreams FC.

'The Transfer Matching System (TMS) contains information about every player in the league and is enough evidence to declare that the player was ineligible and for that the club should also face the consequence,' Osei Palmer told Atinka FM.

Dreams FC under the watch of Coach C.K Akunnor managed to book their ticket to the Ghana Premier League and the ineligible Cudjoe Mensah/Daniel Gozar played a part in their qualification.
