The Ghana Football Association will lead a parade of personalities, families, friends and sympathizers to pay their last respect to the late Jacob Albert Lee Yankey, former chairman of the Western Region Football Association on Saturday,November 28 at the Jubilee park in Takoradi.

Lee Yankey, 74, chaired the W/R FA from 2005 to 2011 passed away on 25th September,2015 and the weekend's event will be the final commiseration moment to his honor for his life and service.

Tricky Lee, as affectionately called, served on the Executive and Juvenile Committees of the GFA. He is also credited for ensuring a vibrant Second Division League in the Western Region.

President of the GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi at the one week commemoration of Lee Yankey on October 2 shared his profound memory about the man he refers to as his 'father in football'.

"We call him Uncle Lee. Unfortunately he passed away. He was the chairman of the Western Region Football Association for some time up to 2011 when we did fresh elections and he was a very important member of the football family. Uncle Lee was regular at football meetings and took active part in deliberations in all our meetings. He had a lot of influence on policy formulation and decision making at the Football Association.

"Unfortunately we've lost him and we can only take consolation that he will be living peacefully in the bosom of the Lord but we also have to glorify his memory by insuring that we uphold the virtues that he respected or lived by in his time. You know he was a very principled man, very intelligent, very hard working, unfortunately he is no more so we are here to pay a befitting tribute to his memory and also express our condolences to his family and friends".
