Madrid, Nov, 26, (GNA/dpa) - Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid all booked places in the knockout stage of the Champions League with victories on Wednesday.

Juventus edged Manchester City 1-0, PSG cruised 5-0 at Malmo, and Atletico beat Galatasaray 2-0. Manchester United, though, were held 0-0 by PSV Eindhoven and will have to fight for qualification on the final day.

Juventus, last season's finalists, beat City with an early goal from Mario Mandzukic after being set up by the impressive Paul Pogba.

"We were not clinical enough. We badly missed several injured players, and we were a little bit unlucky, to be honest," City captain Yaya Toure said.

The win took Juve to the top of Group D with 11 points, two more than a City side that had already qualified before their trip to Turin.

Borussia Moenchengladbach cruised into third place with a 4-2 caning of bottom team Sevilla, with a brace from Lars Stindl plus goals from Fabian Johnson and Raffael.

In Group A, PSG clinched second place with the performance of the night, a 5-0 romp at feeble Malmo with two goals from Angel di Maria plus others from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Adrien Rabiot and Lucas Moura.

It was an emotional return to his home town for Ibrahimovic: "It felt like I was home again. ... This is a great moment for me and my family. This was where it all began. And to come here with PSG when I'm on top and do what I do best - playing football - I do not know how many people get to experience something like this."

PSG are three points below Real Madrid, who clinched a first-place finish by winning 4-3 at Shakhtar Donetsk, with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to form with a brace.

Shakhtar and Malmo have just three points apiece.
