Hearts suffering from deficit in managerial acumen - Asabre
26.11.2015 LISTEN

Accra, Nov 26, GNA - Mr Maxwell Asabre, Spokesperson for the 'Concerned Hearts of Oak Supporters' has expressed utmost misgiving about the club's dwindling fortunes and accused the current management of inexperience and suffering from deficient managerial acumen.

'To make matters worse, the current management is a bunch of administrators with little experience in managing clubs at any level. In the past three seasons, the club has been led by so called management people who have not served out their apprenticeship', he added.

Mr Asabre made the comments at a press conference in Accra dubbed 'Accra Hearts of Oak at the Crossroads'.

He said the present board has decided to experiment with inexperienced Managing Directors, who are indecisive in their decisions, which is affecting the club, and stressed that, the club is a continental club and not a local side.

Mr Asabre said during the club's glory days, the highly experienced Ashford Tettey Oku competently handled the administrative needs of the club, leaving the rest of the management members to go down onto the field to coordinate the various activities.

He noted that the importance of experience was felt when Mr Harry Zakkour and other other former executives mobilised themselves to salvage the club from relegation struggles, saying that, the club lost only two out of the last 8 matches in which they were involved.

Mr Asabre said the club's woes was necessitated by the flotation of shares, stressing that, the Council of patrons have not been consulted even once on any matter concerning the club since the floatation.

He said most of the experienced hands in the former board and management, who were active and energetic have been retired by the current power brokers, adding that, the current board is uninspiring and out of touch with daily realities on the field.

The supporters are calling on the Council to bring the past directors and the present board to the round table to reconcile the hearts family.

'We are calling on Togbe Afede XIV to admit that he has failed to meet the club's expectations and should do the honorary thing by resigning to save the club'.
