Shoddy work: Transparency international report is bogus - GFA
25.11.2015 LISTEN

The Ghana Football Association has questioned a report released by Transparency International on the management of the country's football governing body which claims the FA is not transparent.

In the transparency International report released on Monday, the Ghana FA was rated as one of the world's worst managed football associations after claiming the soccer governing body had scored zero in all four categories of the Football Governance League Table, comprising financial reports, organization charter, annual activity report and code of conduct/ethics.

But the GFA through its Communication Director, Ibrahim Saani Daara says the work done by Transparency International is "shoddy".

'The research work done by Transparency International is erroneous. The GFA has financial reports that were presented to members of Congress recently. We have a code of conduct and even an organisation charter,' Daara told Joy FM.

'Transparency International did not contact the Ghana FA for documentary evidence so I am disappointed in their research because it lacks accuracy,' He said.

Saani Daara added that the FA recently presented its annual report during the GFA 22nd ordinary congress and expected the Transparency International to have captured that.

"During the congress at Prampram, we presented our annual report to the board, so for Transparency International to say that they can't find our financial reports and what not on the FA website, doesn't mean that we don't do it.

"I am very disappointed at them because they did a shoddy work."
