Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan wants individuals and cooperate institutions to invest in women’s football in the country.

Gyan on Monday presented a cheque of $30,000 to the Ghana FA as a reward prize to the Black Queens team for winning Gold at this year’s African Games in Brazaville.

This donation comes at a time where financial motivation has been a big problem when it comes to women’s football in the country.

Some few months back when the Black Queens won the African Games women’s football Gold, their payment of qualification and winning bonuses became a problem between the team and the Sports Ministry.

The Shangai SIPG striker who has already given the Black Queens $40,000 earlier this year appealed to companies to pay equal attention to women's football.

“I am appealing to everybody in the country, companies and individuals. This is the first time the women’s team have won gold for the country and this is coming from me but I am appealing to other people who can be touched to help these ladies because we are all Ghanaians and are here to give back to the community,” said Gyan

“My colleagues in the Black Stars have done a lot that people don’t recognize and personally it has never been my style to do things for people to know but this are some of the things we can do to encourage others to also emulate."
