Director of Ghanaian premier league side Liberty Professionals, Mr. George Kwasi Afriyie has categorically stated their resolve to keep youngster Latif Blessing in the club to at least the end of next season.

Speaking with Abednego, the host of Yes Fm’s ‘’ Matured Sports show’’ on Wednesday in Cape Coast, Mr. Afriyie says Latif will not leave the club until the end of the coming season.

He said even though Liberty Professionals are not known for putting an impediment on the way of young players who wants to move on, it is also their responsibility as a club to make sure the move is in the interest of the player.

‘’We do not buy big name players. We go into the hinterlands and pick young unknown talented players for the club and sell them as and when they excel and we feel a move will be in the interest of both the player and the club. That is why we as Liberty Professionals at the moment think Latif should remain with the club in spite of his exploits in the just ended 2014-2015 FCP premier league that culminated in clubs chasing after his signature. It is normal that clubs will want to have him, taking into consideration his performance last season. But we think he is still too young to join a big club where he will not be guaranteed regular playing time’’.

Blessing was a revelation in the 2014-2015 FCP premier league and has attracted interest from reigning league champions Ashgold and Ghanaian league giants Kotoko and Hearts of Oak over the last Month.

Latif himself has welcomed the prospect of playing for Kotoko or Hearts by saying he is ready to play for any of the two Ghanaian giants.
