OCT 21, 2015 LISTEN

Hearts of Oak have agreed a two-year deal with Yaw Preko as deputy coach of the club, according to reports.

Preko, who is also deputy coach of the national U-20 football team, played for the Accra giants in the 1990s.

He will work under a yet-to-be-appointed head coach of the club.

The former national star joins Hearts of Oak's backroom staff that already has Team Manager of the Black Stars, Nii Sabahn Quaye working in a similar position at the club.

Preko, during his days with the club, was one of the young talents that had the opportunity to represent Ghana, as he was part of the national U-17 that won the 1991 world championship.

He now returns to Hearts of Oak for the first time after over 20 years [after playing in countries like Belgium, Sweden, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam] but this time in a coaching capacity and he is expected to impact his rich knowledge on the team.
