SWAG grateful to Nana Nketsia V, MTN, Activa and others

Accra, Oct. 6, GNA - The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has on behalf of its patrons and the entire membership, expressed appreciation to all stakeholders, who ensured the successful organisation of the 40th MTN-SWAG Awards Night, held at the Banquet Hall, State House, last Saturday.

SWAG also expressed appreciation to the special guest of Honour Nana Kobina Nketsia V for his words of wisdom and inspiration during the event.

It said the presence of the highly respected chief added colour and royal touch to the historic event which saw Colombus Crew - United States of America (USA) and Black Stars defender Harrison Afful winning the prestigious Footballer of the Year Award.

The event also saw former Bechem United player, Augustine Okrah retaining the Premiership Player of the Year award he won in the 39th Edition.

According to the statement, the Association can also not forget the contribution of the Minister of Youth and Sports, officials of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Ghana Football Association (GFA), supporters union and other stakeholders for their presence at the event.

The statement also expressed appreciation to the headline sponsors of the event MTN- Ghana and its Chief Executive Mr. Ebenezer Asante and Activa International Insurance Company, Alisa Hotel, ATL, CDH Holdings, Stanbic Bank and TT Brothers for providing the needed financial support for the organization of the event.

SWAG last Saturday organized the 40th edition of the prestigious awards at the plush Banquet Hall, State House, Accra.

The statement added the Association will organise the 41st Edition early next year and called on the corporate body for the subsequent editions.
