Wayne Rooney and wife Coleen spent almost £150,000 on their new kitchen - even though neither of them cook.

The Manchester United captain is now England's all-time leading goalscorer, and just 15 away from taking the record from Sir Bobby Charlton at Old Trafford too.

But his performances in the kitchen are not quite up to the same level.

In a BBC documentary, set to air tonight, Rooney admits he can only cook one meal - beans on toast.

And while wife Coleen loves a Sunday roast - she confesses it is never her doing the cooking.

"She said: 'Either my mum will do it or we go out. I don't cook it," Coleen admitted.

According to the Sun , the couple spent £145,533 on the kitchen for their home in Prestbury, Chesire.

It is said to include a vast array of expensive utensils, featuring a £20,000 oven, £13,650 fridge and £11,250 wine cabinet.

The documentary catches a rare glimpse into the home of England's most high-profile footballer.

Signed guitars from the likes of Sir Paul McCartney and Noel Gallagher feature, alongside an extensive trophy room of Rooney's sporting accolades.

An expensive assembly of toys are also on display - including a drivable mini Range Rover (costing up to £399), a taxi trike (on sale for £299) and children's fruit and vegetable stand (£99), ensuring sons Kai and Klay are well-covered for amusements.

As well as a games room featuring a pool table and arcade games, the garden was home to an enormous children's playhouse, five-a-side football pitch, and giant trampoline.
