Bournemouth winger, Max Gradel's long term injury is as a result of a hex placed on him by family members, according to a shocking report in the Gazette dello Sport.

The Ivory Coast winger joined the Premier league side from French side St.Etienne but suffered a knee injury in a 1-1 draw against Leicester City that has him out for several months.

Reports however indicate that the long term injury is punishment from his relatives for abandoning them after they helped him out of a similar situation during his time in France.

Gradel lost his mother eight years ago and calls on several aunts and uncles who are the backbone of his professional career according the report but have been neglected since the player made the journey across the channel to England.

This will not be the first time such reports have been made about African players. There were recent reports of African players in the Premier League consulting witch doctors for success in their careers.
