Chelsea slumped further into crisis as Southampton were inspired by Sadio Mane to a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea took the lead in the first half when Willian scored another free kick. As at Newcastle, his position lent itself to the cross, but Willian sent in an effort above every other player to find the top corner.

Southampton grew into the match, and had their equaliser when Graziano Pelle - who Gary Cahill had struggled with all half - chested into the path of Steven Davis, and he volleyed expertly past Asmir Begovic. Davis had been left free by Willian and Cesc Fabregas.

In the second half, Chelsea had an appeal for a penalty waved away after Radamel Falcao was clearly brought down in the box. Like Sadio Mane, who should have had his own penalty in the first half, he was penalised for diving.

Southampton took the lead when Mane span John Terry on the edge of the box after Chelsea lost possession, and forced a shot past Begovic. Pelle had his third when Southampton broke from their own half with Mane assisting Pelle for an excellent finish.

Chelsea, and Jose Mourinho, had no answers.
