Evergreen: Xavi named player of the month in Qatar for September

Xavi Hernández has been chosen as Qatar Stars League player of the month for September. A great start for the former Barcelona midfielder as he begins his new footballing adventure in Qatar. Xavi has been on target once and provided three assists for his Al Saad side who currently sit third in the league table with two wins and one draw in their opening three league games to date.

One of the greatest players in the Spanish game is enjoying his time in Qatar and is one of the leading names in the tournament. In the three games he has played for Al Saad, we have seen the passing skills and vision that that made him such him iconic player. Although he may have abandoned a top class league in his move East, to date he is showing on the pitch that his time in Qatar is far more than just an extended holiday.
