The First Capital Plus Premier League returns this weekend after its brief recess with the relegation battle set to go down to the wire.

With the exception of Ashantigold, Aduana Stars, Berekum Chelsea and Inter Allies who look relatively comfortable at first to fourth position respectively, all other clubs will be battling to avoid the drop.

WAFA will face a tough task this weekend as they go away to face league leaders Ashantigold at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi in this weekend's live broadcast match.

A win for Ashgold could enhance their chances of winning the league with a match to spare while WAFA will only need a point from the game to confirm their stay in the topflight league.

Second placed Aduana Stars will also hope to keep their faint chance of winning the league alive when they welcome New Edubiase to the Dormaa Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday.

With two matches to go, Aduana are lying four points behind the table toppers and three points from Sunday's game could help them close the gap if WAFA manages to get something from their game against Ashgold.

Edubiase themselves will be poised to find some breathing space from the relegation battle with a rare win in Dormaa as a defeat for them could land them in trouble.

Though they already have been relegated from the Premier League with just 19 points out of 28 games, BA United could ruin Liberty Professional's plans to confirm their safety this weekend when the two sides face each other at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday.

Liberty Professionals are currently 6th on the League table with 40 points, a point could see them fully escape relegation.

Bechem United face a massive game away to Inter Allies this weekend at the Tema Stadium in a match that could see them confirm whether they will stay in the league or be demoted.

Bechem United are currently 14th on the league table with 37 points while Inter Allies are safe at 4th position.

There will also be an interesting game at the Wa Stadium when All Stars welcome Medeama in the Match day 29 game.

Both sides are poised to earn the points at stake to boost their chances of staying in the Premier League.

It's been a frustrating week for Asante Kotoko as they lost the FA Cup title to Medeama on Sunday and also suffered points deduction in the Premier League.

The reigning League champions have seen 6 points deducted from their total points after the GFA Disciplinary Committee ruled that they fielded an unqualified player (Obed Owusu) in their match against Hearts of Oak.

The Porcupine warriors will however have an opportunity to win back three points this weekend when they travel again to the Sekondi Stadium as guests of Hasaacas.

Lying 15th on the log due to the points deduction, Kotoko will be anxious to secure a win and move up the League log though with 39 points, the hosts will also have to win to confirm their stay in the league.

The Kpando Stadium will be the venue for the hottest match of the weekend as 12th and 13th placed Great Olympics face off in a match that could determine their fates in the First Capital Plus Premier League.

Having moved up the League table to 7th after gaining three points from the six points deducted from Kotoko, Hearts of Oak could move further up the log and escape relegation if they manage to beat Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Stadium on Sunday. Chelsea who are 3rd on the log are safe.

All eight matches that will kick off simultaneously at 3:15 on Sunday as announced by the Premier League Board(PLB).
