TWO-TIME Africa Champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, on Monday August 31, 2015, marked their 80 years anniversary at the party's secretariat in Kumasi.

The club organized a mega press conference on the day, which was graced by journalists from the electronic and the print media in Kumasi and nearby areas.

Top members of the Porcupine Warriors, including current management members, were also in attendance to make the event grand.

Kwaku Ahenkorah, Kotoko's Communications Manager, told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS that the club held the press conference ostensibly to mark Kotoko's birthday.

According to him, 80 years of existence was a huge achievement, and Kotoko management decided to celebrate the day with the media.

Ahenkorah said Kotoko's management used the event to announce to the whole world the current state of affairs in the club.

He disclosed that Kotoko would soon announce a series of activities to mark the 80 years anniversary, which would include an international friendly match.

Formed on August 31, 1935, Kumasi Asante Kotoko is owned by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is also the traditional leader of Asanteman.
