Sports News It's Sulley: Allsports readers choose Muntari over KP Boateng for Black Stars recall
AUG 28, 2015 LISTEN

Readers of your authoritative Allsports.com.gh have been choosing between Sulley Ali Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng in our online poll to find out which of the two Ghanaian midfielders they favour to earn a recall into the national football team.

The duo have been excluded from Black Stars selections since their infamous sack from the Ghana camp at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil over a year ago.

Worse, both players broke ties with their respective clubs, AC Milan and Schalke 04 before the end of last season, Muntari has since found a new home in Saudi Arabia where he signed a two-year deal with Al ittihad, same club which handed a lifeline to Boateng only for the Germany born star to fail his medical.

Well following the naming of a 24-man squad by Black Stars coach, Avram Grant for next weekend's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Rwanda, we asked our readers if they still wanted any or which of the two players to be invited back into the national team.

The majority of you chose Sulley Ali Muntari, a few of the 293 comments we received are published below:

"Sulley," one of our few female respondents, Lydia Nickel Ussher offered the simplest of answers.

"SULLEY ALI MUNTARI. (massa) none of the current players can match Sulley's play ooo. And I do not even see him as indisciplines with reference to what happened at the 2014 World Cup. Our leaders are rather to be blamed and not Sulley," Gava Dental expressed.

"Oh Sulley is much better," said one Kwasi Asante Boadu.

"They are indisciplined, but Sulley dies a lot for Ghana, so let's consider him... He can be called to play again for the national team," JohnPatrick Lebene Darabor added.

"Both, and if one then Muntari," was the response of Shafique Baajuri.

"Both of them but Sulley first," Madiba Manredela.

"Sulley for real," Young Shatter replied simply which was fully backed by Kojo Boamah: "Sulley Muntari of course."

"Both... They may have done things bad but everybody offends so lets forgive them and bring unity among ourselves to bring Black Stars to another level," one Prifty Preach Nti Mensa wrote.

"I want my people back in the team, that's the DONS and GURUS....... Sulley and Kevin," Seth Amponsah added.

Other fans however were very sceptical of recalling the two former AC Milan teammates.

"Why call a player who can't even pass his medical into the Black Stars? Why call a player who can't recover quickly after been dribbled as a central midfielder into the Black Stars?" Pretty Flacko queried.

"None of them, they are both rusty and old. We need to look for fresh energetic young guys with talents," Kingsley Tiger Adjepor added.

"Aaaaa you people why.. so can these people compare themselves to the likes of Aguero, Yaya Toure, Hazard and the like......(masa) Sulley as a player with poor recovery rate....Kevin's time is over ...they should back off and give the youngsters chance," Nana Agyemang Yeboah minced no words.
