Obuasi, Sept. 30, GNA - Division One campaigners, Bibiani Gold Stars defeated Premier side, AshantiGold 3-2 in a friendly football match at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Wednesday.
The match that served as preparation for the two teams in their respective league encounters saw AshantiGold scoring the opening goal in the seventh minute through Awudu Ronaldo After the goal the home team recoiled into their shells and allowed the visitors to dominate play.
It therefore came as no surprise when Ernest Boateng levelled up the scores in the 54th minute.
Issah Kyeremeh shot Gold Stars into the lead five minutes later but Zakari Amadu quickly put AshantiGold on level terms in the 69th minute before Nana Eshia snatched the winning goal for Gold Stars in the 80th minute.
Disaster struck Gold Stars in the 84th minute when Yaw Gyasi was giving the marching off orders for dangerous play but Ashanti Gold could not capitalize on their numerical strength to get the equaliser.
Mr Robert Ameyaw Djan, Accra Representative of Gold Stars told GNA Sports later that the management of the club would do everything possible to ensure that the club qualifies for the Premier League during the next football season.
