Alfred Duncan's Sassuolo career got off to the perfect start on Sunday after the Ghanaian midfielder inspired his new side to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over favourites, Napoli on the opening weekend of Serie A action.

The former Inter player switched to Sassuolo on a season long loan from Sampdporia this summer and showed that he has already settled in at the Mapei Stadium after earning a starting berth and playing all 90 minutes in their remarkable win.

Marek Hamsik gave Napoli a third minute lead but Duncan's side rallied to secure all three points on match day one of the 2015/16 season against the highly rated opponents on the strikes of Antonio Floro Flores and substitute Nicola Sansone.

So composed and outstanding was the 22 year old Ghanaian in midfield for the Neroverdi that Forza Italia Football's player ratings labelled him simply 'Machine' and gave him more marks than all Sassuolo players except equalising goal scorer, Flores and the man who gave the assist, Domenico Berardi who both got a mere half point more than Duncan's 7 points.

"Worked hard throughout and was careful and considered in possession. His left-footed deliveries from set-pieces could be very useful for his side this season," the citation described Alfred Duncan - 7 - Machine.

Sassuolo next travel to face Bologna on Saturday when Serie A returns with match day 2 action. Follow @thedonplato
