After seasons of shuttles from the Len Clay Stadium to the Bekwai Park, Premiership side New Edubiase will soon have a place they will call their home grounds.

The new Stadium, sited at New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region is expected to house 20,000 sporting fans,

Club president, Abdul Salam Yakubu in a post-sod cutting interview revealed that the contractor of the project has promised to complete it one and half years from now.

It was Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Mustapha Ahmed, who performed the official sod cutting for the commencement of work on the construction on Wednesday.

He was joined by the Chiefs and elders of the New Edubiase community and officials of the club.

'This is indeed a welcoming news, we can now call the Stadium our home when completed. It will help the youth in this community in many aspects-unearthing and developing talents in the area.

'We are happy and I think it will even have a positive impact on the playing body, the benefits we stand to gain can't be quantified in monetary terms,' said Salam Yakubu.
