Never say die: Soulama Abdoulaye: Hearts are too big to be relegated
03.08.2015 LISTEN

Soulama Abdoulaye has urged the playing body of Accra Hearts of Oak to give out their all in the remaining 5 matches of the Ghana Premier League.

Hearts of Oak are 2 from the bottom of the ongoing First Capital Plus Premier League and their woes were deepened yesterday at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra, when they lost 2-1 to their bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko.

Soulama Abdoulaye who was suspended for the game has stated that Hearts of Oak are recognized international, thus it would be disastrous for the current crop of players to send the team to relegation.

'It is not nice for Hearts of Oak to go to relegation. In Ghana we have clubs such as Chelsea, Kotoko, Ashgold and Hearts, who been selling good football to the fans all this while, he told Metro fm.

'Hearts and Kotoko draw the largest crowd to the pitch, so a relegation to either side will take some shine out of the league.

'Hearts of oak are known internationally and it shouldn't be our time that the team would face relegation for the first time in their history. Although there are a lot of new players, we have top notch players like Robin Gnagne, Fiamenyo, so we have what it takes to beat relegation. However, we are not playing like Hearts of Oak.'

Souula Abdoulaye joined Hearts of Oak from Asante Kotoko in the 2014-15 league season, after winning 4 league titles and an FA Cup with the Ghana champions.
