Samuel Anim
Ghana's top rider Samuel Anim left home last Saturday for road works on the Aburi Mountains but ended up at the Mampong Tetteh Quarshie Morgue.

The 24-year-old lanky cyclist was hit by an unidentified motor biker in a hit-and-run on the mountains while the former was training for the All African Games slated for Congo from September 4 to 19.

Anim, a former member of the Young Stars Cycling Club, who until his death became a key performer for Sky Club, clinched the Red Jersey (the most aggressive rider prize) in 2012 and defended it the following year.

As a team racer, a roller and sprinter, he had partnered other members to win many laurels for club and country.

Ghana Cycling Federation president Shaanun Mohammed has meanwhile expressed gross worry over the loss of Ghana's All African Games medal hopeful.

He said in an interview that 'it's unfortunate we have lost such a talented and great rider; it's a big loss for Ghana.'
