League Report Good game: 'It was a close game' - David Duncan
AUG 3, 2015 LISTEN

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, David Duncan has stated that their super clash game against their arch rivals Hearts of Oak which his side won 1-2 in Accra was a close game  after both sides exhibited great piece of football.

The Porcupine Warriors handed the Phobians their third home defeat in the ongoing First Capital Plus Bank Premier league at the Accra sports stadium on match day 25.

Amos Frimpong shot his side into the lead in the 24th minute but the Phobians pulled even through Inusah Musah in the 61st minute but the hero for Kotoko was 17 year old Dauda Mohammed who struck the match winning goal for the Kumasi based side 7 minutes to full time  which drop the Phobians to the 15th position.

And David Duncan after picking the three maximum points against his former club said both teams played very well but Hearts of Oak were unfortunate to lose.

'At the initial stages we didn't really see the team clearly on top. I taught Hearts played very well and it didn't reflect on the league log and the fans had a worth for their money, they dominated and at a point we took over.

'I think at some point the adversity we suffered in the morning affected the team some way somehow we managed to get over it and Hearts played very well but they were unfortunate to lose especially when they pulled the goal that we have scored from the early part of the second half and I taught they could have built from that to punish us,' Duncan said in a post-match interview.

Kotoko on Wednesday will host Wa Allstars at the Baba Yara sport stadium on match day 26.
