AUG 1, 2015 LISTEN

Asamoah Gyan would like to express appreciation to the diligent Ghanaian media for their support throughout his career.

The Ghana captain however wants to raise some concerns over the conduct of some media practitioners over the past weeks.

The Management of the Shanghai SIPG ace has had to cause the arrest of a reporter earlier this week for an alleged offence of blackmail and extortion.

The conduct of the said reporter, considered by the captain of the senior national team, the Black Stars as highly unprofessional is one example of other acts being perpetuated by several others.

As a law abiding citizen, Gyan is referring all these issue to the appropriate quarters for redress.

Gyan and his management would like to state emphatically that there is no pre-meditated agenda against any media outfit or any journalist or reporter for that matter.

He will continue to avail himself to any media engagement or interaction through his management whenever deemed necessary.

He also wants to urge that practitioners display a high sense of professionalism in the discharge of their duties to ensure such cases - which is aforementioned - are avoided in future.

Once more again, Asamoah Gyan would like to encourage and appreciate the efforts of hardworking media practitioners who set out to do their work objectively and with a high sense of professionalism.

Signed
Samuel Anim Addo
Manager of Asamoah Gyan
