Administrators are to be blamed for Ghana's extensive barren run, not spirituality, says Sulley Muntari

Sulley Muntari has dismissed beliefs that Ghana's trophy stricken run is due to spirituality as the midfielder says the country lacks quality administration needed for success.

The Black Stars have been unable to win the Africa Cup of Nations since its last triumph in 1982.

The closest Ghana has come to winning the tournament was at Senegal and Equatorial Guinea when the Black Stars lost on penalties to Cote d'Ivoire.

Many have attributed Ghana's barren run on spirituality.

This even led to the Sports Ministry dishing out a booty to former Black Stars players for broken promises by the state in the past when they won titles.

Yet still the Black Stars have been unsuccessful in their pursuit to win the Nations Cup.

Sulley Muntari who is currently out of the Black Stars team as he continues to serve in indefinite ban for attacking an official at the 2014 World Cup says administrators are to be blamed for the current situation.

'Ghana national team problems are not spiritual. We have got some good players in the team,' Muntari told Starr FM.

'We are one of the best in Africa. I still don't understand why people say the team's problems are spiritual

'I think the right things are not being done. We lack organisation. The administration of our football is not efficient.

'We have talented players in Ghana, but our football administrators are not doing the right thing.

'They don't know how to treat people, and this keeps affecting us at major tournaments.'

Current coach Avram Grant has been tasked to lead Ghana to success at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations which will be staged in Gabon.
